What to Expect

Introduction

Seek relief from acupuncture for chronic pain. When you come for your initial appointment, you will be asked a series of questions about your complaint as well as your overall health, health history, Western medicine diagnoses, and current medications.

Diagnosis & Treatment

Your acupuncturist may examine your tongue and feel your pulse to gather more insights. Treatments consist of inserting hair-like sterile, single-use needles into specific points. These acupuncture points, selected based on your symptoms, might be local or distal to the problematic area. Acupuncture not only aims to treat the immediate condition but also addresses any underlying patterns identified by your acupuncturist. Needles are typically retained for around 20 minutes, depending on your condition.

Treatment Duration

The initial treatment at Eastern Wellness Acupuncture is typically 60 minutes, ensuring ample time for thorough consultation and treatment. Subsequent sessions usually last for 45 minutes. For acute and certain chronic conditions, 2-3 treatments per week might be initially recommended. However, as acupuncture effects are cumulative, sessions might be reduced depending on recovery speed and the body's response.

Additional Therapies

Alongside acupuncture, we might deploy other techniques like heat, cupping, electrical stimulation, or Tuina (Chinese manual therapy). Nutritional advice rooted in Eastern traditions and lifestyle modification recommendations may also be provided to augment your healing journey.
